SG4Mobility

Environment-friendly mobility behavior and health promotion with serious games. In the SG4Mobility research project, users’ mobility is recorded via activity recognition on the smartphone, on the one hand to improve mobility analysis with concrete mobility data and, on the other hand, to give individual users a clear picture of their personal mobility.

As part of the project, an app is being developed that combines activity recognition and serious games — games that have a distinctive purpose beyond entertainment.

Through a scoring scheme with gamification approaches, users are meant to become aware of the impact of their mobility on the CO2 balance and be won over to environment-friendly mobility behavior. With location-based mini-games, e.g., at transit stops, users can put their physical and mental activity to the test.

The project is being carried out as a user study in the Offenbach area and runs for six weeks. The test phase starts on May 20, 2019, and ends on June 30, 2019. It is divided into three phases of two weeks each. New features are added in each phase.
