Which Telemedicine Projects Make Sense for Patients

Whether tele-tumor conferences, teleconsultations in emergency care, or telemedical monitoring of the chronically ill: in a position paper, the German Medical Association (Bundesärztekammer) outlines which telemedicine approaches it believes genuinely help patients. Given the declining density of physicians, the association also places considerable hope in telemonitoring and tele-case management for the chronically ill. More funding must be made available for research projects in this area, the BÄK demands.
